Hybrid - On Site and Telework  (Must live in Austin, TX area)

I.  DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

• Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms

• Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability

• Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues

• Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions

• Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:

SD-WAN implementation and optimization

Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics)

Security integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)

• Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts

• Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

• Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals

• Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives

• Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership

• Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures

• Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager

 II.  CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience performing supervisory/management work including providing clear direction to subordinates; promoting teamwork and motivating others to accomplish goals.

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions is required.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment.

Experienced with implementation and support of 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environment.

Note: Expected Start Date: 07/03/2026   End Date: 03/03/2027. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.

Hybrid - On Site and Telework: Austin, TX. 78752. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  The Candidate may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested. Candidate must be able to pass background check.
