I. Job Description
Perform Database Architect work as a member of the Data Governance team, overseeing one or more projects concurrently. Document the “as is” schemas currently in use at TWC in Structured Query Language (SQL) Server databases and Oracle databases. Document existing data interfaces in the legacy system. Document existing downstream impacts of the legacy system. Document database process that currently extracts the data from the existing system for reporting purposes. Create data models and reverse and forward engineer data models in an Amazon Web Service SQL Server environment. Define and document the technical architecture of the new transactional system, including the physical components and their functionality. Perform other analysis and documentation tasks as required to facilitate and support this migration project. Provide oversight and design of the migration and conversion of legacy data to the new database. Create scripts for data conversion and migration from legacy systems to new database platform. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations.
II. REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS:
- 4 years, Required - Database Architect Role
- 4 years, Required - Data modeling in SQL Server Enterprise Edition
- 4 years, Required - Analyzing and generating technical requirements and design
- 4 years, Required - Creating and maintaining data models
- 4 years, Required - Database development experience utilizing RDBMS
- 4 years, Required - Design a SQL Server database for high usage/high availability transactional system
- 4 years, Required - Database tuning techniques
- 4 years, Required - Analyzing source databases, source data, source database referential integrity and profiling source data
- 4 years, Required - Experience with data mining and archiving
- 4 years, Required - Experience with MS SQL Server DBMS
- 4 years, Required - Experience with managing RDBMS in AWS or Microsoft Azure
- 4 years, Required - Creating source to target mapping database documentation
- 4 years, Required - Assist with migrating data from legacy database to new target database
- 5 years, Preferred - More than one type of RDBMS (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle)
- 5 years, Preferred - Experience with case management or educational systems State of Texas experience
- 3 years, Preferred - Experience with REST API Services
- 3 years, Preferred - Experience in Amazon Web Services
- 1 years, Preferred - Texas Workforce Commission experience
Note: Position may require team members to come into the office for scheduled meetings, and there may be unscheduled requests with seventy-two (72) hour notice for any TWC business need.
